Restart Your Life Church Mission & Purpose

Restart Your Life Church

Mission: Denomination

"At Restart Your Life Church, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals can find spiritual renewal, healing, and purpose. Our mission is to inspire and empower individuals to restart their lives with faith, hope, and love, embracing transformation and growth through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Through meaningful worship, compassionate service, and authentic fellowship, we aim to guide and support all who seek a fresh start on their spiritual journey."

History:

Restart to Life Church was founded over 30 years ago by a group of individuals seeking spiritual renewal and a fresh start on their faith journey. The ministry began as a small gathering of like-minded individuals who shared a common desire to experience a deeper connection with God and a sense of purpose in their lives. As the ministry grew and evolved over the years, Restart to Life Church found alignment with the Universal Life Church as its denomination. Partnering with the Universal Life Church provided a supportive framework that embraced the freedom of religion and the expression of diverse beliefs, allowing members of Restart to Life Church to explore their spirituality in a welcoming and inclusive environment. At Restart to Life Church, we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, and we are committed to creating a community that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. We welcome and support members of the LGBTQUI+ community, affirming their identities and honoring their experiences as valued members of our congregation. Our ministry is rooted in love, compassion, and acceptance, and we strive to create a safe and nurturing space where all individuals can explore their faith, find healing and renewal, and experience the transformative power of God's unconditional love.

Denomination:

Affiliation with the Universal Life Church (ULC) denomination holds significant meaning for Restart Your Life Church, as it provides a supportive and inclusive spiritual framework that aligns with our values of love, acceptance, and freedom of belief. The partnership with the ULC allows Restart Your Life to continue its mission of providing a welcoming and diverse community where individuals can explore their faith, experience spiritual growth, and find renewal. The Universal Life Church was founded in 1959 by Rev. Kirby J. Hensley with the vision of promoting religious freedom, tolerance, and the idea that every individual has the right to follow their own spiritual path. The ULC is known for its inclusive philosophy that recognizes the validity of all religious beliefs and practices, embracing a wide range of spiritual perspectives and honoring the diversity of human experiences. By partnering with the Universal Life Church, Restart Your Life Church can tap into a supportive network of like-minded communities and resources that share a commitment to spreading God's love and acceptance to all people. This partnership enables Restart Your Life to collaborate with other churches and ministries in alignment with the core principles of compassion, inclusivity, and respect for individual beliefs. Together, Restart Your Life and the Universal Life Church can work towards creating a more compassionate and understanding world, where all individuals are valued, accepted, and supported in their spiritual journeys. Through this partnership, we strive to extend God's love and grace to all, fostering unity, healing, and transformation in the lives of those we serve.

HEARING THE WORD OF GOD

God’s plan for my life is holiness. God’s purpose for every believer is to be conformed to the character of Christ: “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters” (Romans 8:29, NLT; see also 2 Corinthians 3:181 John 3:2). Whether we are young or old, married or single, rich or poor, black or white, male or female, God’s plan is for us to be made holy (Leviticus 11:44–45Hebrews 12:101 Peter 1:15–161 John 3:3).

God’s plan for my life is discipleship. God calls Christians to be witnesses for Jesus in the world (Acts 1:8Matthew 10:17–20) and to follow Christ in laying down our lives for others (1 John 3:16Matthew 16:24–26John 13:12–17). Discipleship involves learning from God (John 6:45) and loving and serving others (Ephesians 5:1–21 Peter 2:164:10Galatians 6:9–10).

God’s plan for my life is good works. The Bible likens believers to works of art in the studio of the Master Artist: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10, NLT). Before we were born, God designed a plan for us (Psalm 139:13)—an itinerary of good works waiting for us to accomplish through our union with Him. He is the master, and we are His instruments (2 Corinthians 4:7–18Jeremiah 18:6Romans 9:20–21).

God’s plan for my life is progress. God does not reveal the complete plan for our lives all at once. We don’t get the whole schedule or the nitty-gritty details but only what we need to keep moving forward. Our job is to trust Him on the journey and allow Him to do the creative work in and through us as we “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
